NKD Doritos & Cheetos

FritoLay’s new NKD chips are mysterious. How did they make snacks so famously orange… not orange? It’s a tough question. So, naturally, it’s a conspiracy. The OrangeGone Conspiracy. An overly complicated, ridiculous, out-of-this-world explanation to call attention to the simplicity of the truth: they just took the dyes out. And the artificial flavoring.

It’s not a conspiracy. It’s simply NKD.

No conspiracy is complete without a sketchy looking website to back it up. For the OrangeGone campaign, FritoLay would officially create and update Orangegone.com, ran by the lovable conspiracist, Jeb J. Jameson.

Stunts

What better way to get people talking about your conspiracy than to plant evidence in the real world? For example…

Sending the elusive “Men in Orange” to walk through the streets of Manhattan, taking orange objects with them while catching the eyes of curious passersby.

Marking the “Dorito Triangle” — the mysterious zone where orange goes to disappear — across different map and GPS services.

Flying drones that shoot blue light, canceling out the orange on everyday objects, to make it seem like someone… something… is abducting our orange.
